What is Barre?

Barre is a beautiful workout style that combines Ballet basics and techniques, traditional Pilates and yoga. At William Maslin Dance Studios, we also add some Latin and Ballroom dance elements.

Barre challenges your superficial and deep muscles throughout your whole body so you sculpt and burn fat, in a low impact, fun way. So it is safe on your joints and baby friendly.

To keep things interesting, we offer three styles of Barre

Barre Attack

Barre, Pilates and cardio workout based on functional movement, and beautiful ballet techniques.

This is a full body workout, burning, toning and sculpting.

Bangin’ Barre

Burn, sweat, sculpt and dance your way into a healthier you! We combine Barre with latin and ballroom dance elements to give you a truly different work out experience. We concentrate in challenging every part of your body, mixing cardio with controlled toning exercises.

Boom Barre

When you thought Barre couldn’t get any more challenging, we add a little more.

This 50 minutes workout uses weights, resistance bands and suspension training to boost your barre workout.

Our way at the Barre

We keep our classes small to focus on you and keep you safe.

Our approach is whole body, using a range of techniques and movements:

  • dance for cardio
  • Pilates for toning and burn
  • Ballet techniques and basics to burn, tone and build flexibility
  • yoga to tone, build flexibility and stretch.

Your first class is totally free!

Come on in to our Sydney CBD studio, try it out and fall in love with Barre classes at William Maslin Dance Studios.

First time at the Barre?

You’ll need to arrive 15 minutes before your first class, and bring:

  • grip socks
  • a bottle of water
  • a towel.

Please let us know if you are pregnant or have any injuries. We’ll provide modifications throughout the class so you can enjoy and benefit from the class.

What to bring

You don’t need to worry about a thing. Just turn up in your workout gear. We provide:

  • a thick, back friendly mat. But you can bring your own if you prefer.
  • change rooms and bathrooms to freshen up
  • a few beauty essentials so you can spruce up and socialise after class. But we suggest you ditch the stilettos!

Running late?

If you are 5 minutes late, we’re sorry but you won’t be able to join class. The warm up is essential to keep you safe.

So call and let us know, we’ll help you book in another class.

Need to change classes?

Simply contact us no less than 6 hours before your scheduled class using your online portal, through email, in person or on the phone.
