We host a range of functions and events throughout the year to celebrate special occasions. Whether it’s a dance class and high tea for Mothers Day or our regular dance social where people can meet and foster new friendships. Our beautiful space in the heart of the Sydney CBD can cater for almost any occasion.

Valentine's Day Dance Class

Each year we put on a special group class to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Enjoy a glass of bubbly and canapes at the end of the class.

Hen's Parties

Want to do something different? Book a dance or fitness themed party for the bride. A range of options available to suit any budget.

Date Night

Surprise your partner with our date night. This popular experience includes a private dance lesson, followed by some bubbly and cheese board.

Dance Speed Dating

Don’t suffer that awkward silence when you can dance! This is speed dating done differently. No dance experience required.

Dinner and Dance

Come and see our students showcase their talents with an evening of dance routines. 3 course dinner and drinks, plus lots of fun.

Monthly Dance Socials

We’re all about putting the social back in dance. Our regular dance socials are open to the public. Enjoy some dancing and bite to eat!

Corporate fitness classes

Keep your staff happy, healthy and energised with our fun corporate fitness classes. We have a range of options suitable to organisations of any size and type.

Our offering includes:

  • mat pilates
  • barre
  • remedial yoga
  • zumba
  • TRX suspension training (small teams only).

One off casual class

  • With this option, you decide the modality and set the day and time. The price is $245 inc GST.
  • Maximum class size 20 participants.
  • We provide all of the necessary equipment for the class.

Fixed weekly class

  • With this option, you decide the modality and set the day and time. The price is a negoiated rate for a mininum term.
  • Maximum class size 20 participants.
  • We provide all of the necessary equipment for the class.

Flexible subscription

  • With this option, you purchase a set number of spots for the week. Those spots can be used in any of our classes on our public timetable.
  • You decide how many spots individual staf are entitle to each week. They book the class that suits them.
  • The price is a negotiated rate for a minimum term.
  • You have access to a reporting dashboard to monitor attendance and uptake.

Case Study

A leading finance company wanted to offer a range of fitness options to their staff. They recognised fixed class times or types would exclude some, so opted for the flexble subscription.

They negotiated 20 spots per week and staff were limited to one class a week of their choice. The bookings were taken on a first come first serve basis.

The entire process was managed electronically. Staff were provided with a unique registration link and booked their own classes via the online booking system, meaning there was no administrative burden for the organisation implementing the offer.

With access to the dashboard, they could see how the offer was being utilised and whether staff were booking and not showing up preventing others from attending.

The program worked out a the small cost of $7.75 per spot.

Top questions about our functions and events

What is your cancellation policy

It depends. Generally all of our ticketed events, such as speed dating and Valentine’s Day are a firm sale. When purchasing the ticket, the terms and conditions will be displayed.

For special events such as hen’s parties, you will be provided with the specific cancellation policy when we provide the quote. In most circumstances, you will have to pay a deposit, which will become non-refundable a certain period out from your event. This is usually at least 3 weeks. We have this policy because we either need to make alterations to our dance or fitness classes to accommodate your event, or schedule staff to host your event outside of our normal trading hours.

Date nights are a firm sale and are only refunded if you book a time and we are not available. If you are concerned about availability, please contact us before booking. Use the Live Chat for the quickest response.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of people

We do have some restrictions on numbers. For special events, you will be charged for a minimum of 10 people. The event type and time will determine the maximum number of people. For example, if you are holding a group class in partnership dance or a fitness class, the maximum will be 20 people. For a Zumba class, we can go up to 40 people. Our maximum capacity for a formal event, such as dinner and dance is 60 people.

What is your availability

We aim to be flexible and accommodating as much as possible. We do generally have to work around our existing schedule of classes. That said, they can sometimes be moved to accommodate your event provided it makes commercial sense for us to do so.

Things to consider before asking us to quote:

  • Will your event be during our peak teaching times (Tue to Thur evenings inclusive 5pm onwards). It’s highly unlikely we can accommodate you during these times.
  • Can your event work within 45 minute time intervals e.g. start at 5.15pm and finish at 6pm or 6.45pm.
  • We don’t offer just venue hire. You have to use our products, services and approved suppliers.
Can I hire your venue

As a general rule we do not hire out our venue. If you want to host an event at William Maslin Dance Studios, it will need to be via a personalised event package.

If you are a production company or a training company looking for a rehearsal or training space, we will consider these requests on a case-by-case basis. There are some things you need to be aware of:

  • We will only accept bookings for a minimum of 4 hours between 8.30am to 4.30pm. The minimum charge is $1,125 inc GST.
  • You must provide for a lunch break between 12.15 to 1.15pm or 1 to 2pm depending on the day, to facilitate existing fitness class bookings.
  • For bookings over multiple days, you cannot leave anything in studio outside of the hire times.
  • All bookings must be paid for in full, no later than 2 weeks prior to the hire period. There are no refunds for cancellations or rescheduling.
Can we supply our own alcohol

No. Our venue is fully licensed. All alcohol is to be supplied by us and will be served by staff who have their RSA.

Can we use our own catering company

No. We have an approved catering supplier that is familiar with our venue and the need to take care of our dance floor. They provide exceptional food choices, and we are confident you will not be disappointed. To put you at ease, you are welcome to book a taste testing of your menu selection at their off site kitchen before your event.
