Dance teachers – Ballroom and Latin Dance

  • Great Sydney CBD location
  • Full time typically 1:15 to 10pm weekdays
  • 5 weeks annual leave

The Studio

William Maslin Dance Studios are passionate about social dancing. We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident on the dance floor.

We provide tailored and structured learning programs for adults in our American Smooth and Rhythm syllabus. Our teaching method is focused on private lessons which are supported by group classes.

Our modern studio has a warm and inviting feeling, perfect for dancers who want to attend our many socials and events.

The Role

We are looking for experienced dancers, preferably with 1 year of teaching experience in ballroom and Latin dancing.

You will be responsible for:

  • developing and delivering dance programs to individuals, couples and groups, inline with our syllabus and strategic direction
  • selling and marketing our services
  • developing your dance skills and knowledge in syllabus and non-syllabus dance
  • participating in WMDS events including socials, promotional events and others.

The person

You must be able to demonstrate:

  1. at least 1 year experience in teaching both ballroom and Latin dance
  2. an ability to create dance performance and choreography
  3. an enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and learning
  4. clear and fluent communication in English
  5. your passion to teach dance.

It is advantageous to have:

  • experience or knowledge of the International syllabus
  • a degree, diploma or certificate in dance and/or fitness
  • DSA, DVIDA, USISTD, AMI or reputable dance association certification/accreditation.

Remuneration and benefits

  • We offer competitive above the award fortnightly salary plus superannuation and leave loading, with the ability to progress through our salary structure.
  • Your wellbeing is very important to us, so we offer 5 weeks paid annual leave, plus complimentary barre, yoga and Pilates classes within the studio.
  • We will also pay you when you undertake your initial training with us.
  • We also offer other benefits to advance your dance career in line with our Training and Professional Development Policy, which may include paid time to prepare for outside competitions.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced barre instructor who can create a community that finds purpose, friendship and fitness through barre.

You will be responsible for:

  • developing and delivering barre classes/sessions to individuals, couples and groups
  • selling and marketing our services
  • participating in WMDS events including socials, promotional events and others.

The person

You must be able to demonstrate:

  1. successful completion of barre certification as a minimum
  2. at least 2 years experience in instructing barre
  3. possession of a current First Aid & CPR certificate
  4. an enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and learning
  5. clear and fluent communication in English
  6. your passion to teach barre

It is advantageous to have:

  • a Certificate III or IV in fitness or a degree in Sports Science or Human Movement.

  1. successful completion of a minimum 200-hour yoga teaching certificate
  2. at least 2 years experience in instructing yoga
  3. possession of a current First Aid & CPR certificate
  4. an enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and learning
  5. clear and fluent communication in English
  6. your passion to teach yoga
