Learn to dance in Cootamundra

We’re currently taking bookings for our partner dance classes and zumba sessions which will start at the end of March 2025.

Each class will run for 50 minutes. For our partner dance classes, you will need to bring your own dance partner. The course runs for 4 weeks, where you’ll learn the basics in rumba, cha cha, swing and fox trot.

Zumba will be a 4 week package where you’ll learn a range of zumba dance choreography.

Classes will be held at Dickson Hall, Cooper St Cootamundra.

Social dance classes are run over 4 weeks.

  • Social Dance Sundays at 5pm 23 March, 30 March, 6 April & 13 April
  • Zumba - Sundays at 6pm 23 March, 30 March, 6 April & 13 April

There are no make up classes, so if you can't make a particular session it will be forfeited.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a partner?

If you are enrolling in our social dance classes (not zumba) you will need a dance partner.

We are teaching partner dance after all. But don’t worry, your partner can be anyone.

We just ask everyone to have a partner, that way the numbers are even and everyone has a better overall experience.

What styles of dance will we learn?

We’ll be learning the rumba, cha cha, east coast swing and fox trot. We’ll cover at least two steps in each style of dance.

I have two left feet and can't dance. Will I be ok?

Not a problem. We’ll have you moving comfortably to music in no time. We haven’t yet met anyone who hasn’t been able to dance.

If you are worried, the best thing is not to judge yourself or self assess your ability. Just have some fun!

What sort of music will we be dancing to?

We’ll be dancing to wide range of music. From some golden oldies from Frank Sinatra to Doja Cat, Dua Lipa and many in between.

What happens if I miss a class?

There aren’t any make up classes, but don’t worry. At the beginning of each class we’ll recap what was covered in the previous lesson, so we should be able to bring you up to speed pretty quickly.

How do I pay with cash?

We prefer card payments, however, if cash is the only way you can pay, please contact Tanya on 0452 206 847.

Your spot isn’t guaranteed until payment has been received and there are limited spots, so don’t delay.

Will there be more classes?

We are happy to run further classes, depending on numbers. Spread the word.

After the first course, if there is interest we will run some intermediate courses and/or offer other styles of dance.

We teach 18 styles of partner dance, so we can keep you busy!
